We offer (and recommend) pre-anesthetic blood screening to ensure your pet is physically able to withstand the surgical procedure. Anesthesia is induced and maintained with the safest anesthetic medications possible. Your pet is constantly monitored with instrumentation designed to alert the surgeon and technician to even the slightest change in condition. Julie Duval, VMD Diplomate ACVS (Surgery)
Dr. J. Duval joined our surgical team in 2000. She received her VMD degree from the University Of Pennsylvania College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and went on to complete her residency in surgery at the University of Georgia. Prior to coming to GVS, Dr. Duval worked in referral practices in South Carolina and Missouri. |

Alan Cross, DVM Diplomate ACVS (Surgery)
Dr. Cross joined our surgical team in 2003. He received his DVM from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Cross completed his internship and residency in surgery at the University of Georgia. He was on the faculty at the University of Florida for five years before coming to GVS. |

Lori MacDougall, MVSC, DVM
Dr. MacDougall joined our surgical team in 2006. She received her DVM degree from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Canada in 2001. She then completed internships at Washington State University and at Western Veterinary Specialists Centre. Dr. MacDougall returned to Saskatoon to complete a three year residency and a Masters of Veterinary Science. |

Kevin Winkler, DVM
Diplomate ACVS (Surgery)
Dr. Winkler joined our surgical team
in 2007. He received his DVM degree from the University
of Georgia.
Dr. Winkler completed his internship and residency at the University
of Illinois.
Before coming to GVS, Dr. Winkler worked at a referral practice in North Carolina.
